What Scooter125 is
Scooter125 is a classified advertising platform. We publish listings placed by dealers and private sellers. We are not a party to any sale. We do not own the bikes, we do not inspect them, we do not hold your money and we do not guarantee that any listing is accurate.
Using the site as a buyer
Everything on a listing comes from the seller. Verify it yourself before you part with money. Meet in a public place during the day, check the VIN on the frame against the papers, and never pay a deposit before you have seen the bike.
Listing rules
If you list a bike you confirm that you are entitled to sell it, that the details and photographs are accurate and your own, and that the price shown is a genuine asking price.
We remove listings that are fraudulent or misleading, priced to mislead, duplicated across multiple entries, for a bike that is not actually for sale, or that contain contact details designed to move buyers off the platform before they have seen the bike.
Dealer accounts
Dealers are responsible for the accuracy of the stock feed they supply and for keeping it current. We import in good faith and reconcile against what the feed says. If a feed returns implausibly few listings we stop and ask rather than removing stock. Paid placement terms are set out at the point of purchase.
Finance estimates
The estimate shown on a listing is arithmetic based on figures you entered. It is not a quote, not an offer of credit, and not financial advice. We are not a registered credit provider or financial services provider. No licence under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act applies to us, because we do not render financial services: we publish adverts, and the monthly figures on a listing are illustrative estimates generated from a published rate and term.
Intellectual property
The site, its design and its editorial content belong to us. Listing photographs and descriptions belong to whoever supplied them, who grants us a licence to display them for as long as the listing is on the site.
Limits on our liability
We provide the site as it is. We do not warrant that listings are accurate or that any bike is fit for a purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from a transaction between you and a seller. Nothing here limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
South African law applies, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
