The big general classifieds treat bikes as a footnote under cars. We do not. Every filter, every guide and every page on this site is built around two wheels.
We list stock from dealers and from private sellers. Dealers pay us for placement and reporting. Buyers pay nothing and private listings are free.
We are based in Gauteng and we cover all nine provinces.
Who is behind it
Scooter125 is run by Jimmy, a Gauteng rider who has commuted on a 125 for ten years and looks after dealers and the stock feeds. We built it because the big classifieds treat bikes as a footnote under cars, and the bikes most South Africans actually ride, the commuters and scooters under 500cc, get lost under the tourers and superbikes.
How listings are handled
Dealer stock arrives by feed. Each dealer publishes one file of their current stock and we read it on a schedule, hourly for some, daily for others, publishing what is new and marking what has gone as sold. A bike that drops out of a feed is not marked sold on the first miss; it has to be absent from two runs in a row, so a bad morning at a dealer’s server does not empty their page.
Private listings are reviewed by a person before they go live. Photographs are checked across the whole site, and when the same photo turns up on two listings that claim to be different bikes, both are held back until we have confirmed with the dealer which one it belongs to.
Sold bikes keep their page, marked sold, with three similar bikes still for sale. Promoted listings carry a label, so you can always see when placement has been paid for.
When you contact a seller, the message, the WhatsApp tap or the number goes straight to them. We do not sit between you and the seller, and we do not resell enquiries to anyone.
How to reach us
Something wrong with a listing, a dealer account question, or an advertising enquiry: contact us and we reply within one business day, Monday to Saturday. If you think a listing is a scam, say so on that form and we will take it down while we check.
