Frequently Asked Questions

How Scooter125 works, what it costs, and what to do when something goes wrong. If your question is not here, contact us.

Is it free to list my bike?

Yes. Private sellers list free. Dealers list free for the first ninety days, after which paid placement applies. Buyers never pay us anything.

How do I contact a seller?

Every listing has a WhatsApp button that opens a conversation with the seller directly, with the bike already referenced. We do not sit in the middle of that conversation and we do not see what you send.

Are the prices real?

The price shown is the price the seller is asking, and the seller updates it. We do not estimate prices and we do not publish listings priced at zero or one rand to mean “call us”. If a price looks wrong, report the listing and we will check it.

What is the monthly figure under each price?

An estimate of a finance repayment, calculated from the asking price over a default term and rate you can change on the listing page. It is arithmetic, not a quote, and it is not an offer of credit. What you would actually pay depends on your credit profile and your lender.

Do you sell the bikes yourselves?

No. Every bike belongs to the dealer or private seller who listed it. We are the place the listing appears, nothing more. The sale happens between you and them.

What licence do I need?

A code A1 covers bikes up to 125cc. Anything larger needs a code A. Each listing shows which licence that specific bike requires. There is more detail in the licensing guides.

How do I list my dealership stock?

If your stock system produces a feed, send us the URL and we will import it automatically. The feed specification explains the format. If you have no feed, you can add bikes one at a time through the listing form.

A listing looks fraudulent. What do I do?

Report it through the contact form and choose “Report a scam”. We take the listing down while we check it. Never send money to anyone before you have seen the bike in person.

Why is a bike still showing after it sold?

Sold bikes keep their page, marked as sold, with similar bikes still available shown alongside. It is more useful than a dead link. Sold bikes do not appear in search results or browse pages.

How do I get my listing removed?

Dealers importing by feed remove the bike from their feed and it comes off automatically. Anyone else should contact us and we will remove it.
